mission
We want to make Australia’s media landscape truly representative of our society’s cultural, linguistic, gender, and disability diversity.
We gratefully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, on whose land we live and work. Sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respect to all First Nations peoples.

Our
impact
It’s no secret that we have a diversity problem in Australian media. More than 12 million people at the intersection of race, culture, language, gender identity, and disability are not sufficiently represented in our media.
- Heck Media is on a mission to create engaging content and viable media careers for diverse storytellers and podcasters. So far, we have:
- * Three current podcasts produced by diverse women of colour
- * A slate of upcoming podcasts produced and presented by gender diverse and CALD talent
- * Covered a range of topics in current and upcoming podcasts, including culture, race, science, politics, and climate change

Amruta Nargundkar
Amruta is the CEO and founder of Heck Media. She hosts Heckin’ Concerned, and co-hosts Item Number and Repro-normativity.
Bree Turner, PhD
Helen Stenbeck
Helen is the co-producer and co-host of Asian Bitches Down Under. Helen is a community volunteer for Northern Settlement and Guide Dog therapy dogs’ court companion program.
Jessie Tu
Jessie is the co-producer and co-host of Asian Bitches Down Under. She writes for Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and Women’s Agenda, and authored the best selling novel A Lonely Girl is a Dangerous Thing.
Priyanka Chakranarayan
Priyanka is an animal scientist and policy maker whose work focuses on invasive species in Australia.
She is also the producer and presenter of Zoopothesis.
Sam Wilde
Sam is a writer and researcher whose work focuses on intersectional feminism, sexuality, and sexual and reproductive health. Sam is a writer and co-presenter of Repro-normativity.
